  • Overview & Responsibilities

    The Project Manager (PM) will plan, facilitate, and manage various HRIS initiatives. The Project Manager will coordinate the administration of the HRIS project portfolio and manage demand to meet resource availability. The PM will communicate with business partners, configure and deliver weekly service level and portfolio reports to key stakeholders. He/she will facilitate gathering of business requirements on select projects and serve as a liaison between the business and technical resources to ensure solutions are delivered according to agreed-upon expectations.

    A successful candidate should possess a thorough understanding project management and of the Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll business processes.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Administer projects using system and software tools. Administer change control documents.
    • Work with HRIS staff to generate time and cost estimates for projects.
    • Gather requirements and specifications from various sources.
    • Serve as the primary administrator of HRIS’s project and portfolio management system.
    • Participate in process improvement efforts. Author, champion and as needed train on new processes.
    • Build positive relationships and trust over time through on-time delivery of high quality projects.
    • Provide project and portfolio tracking and documentation; partnering with key stakeholders to ensure effective results of timely deliverables.
    • Confer with internal and external clients to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input and output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
    • Recommend standard operating procedures for HRIS solutions. Consult with business Associates to help facilitate end-user documentation.
    • Ensure development meets requirements by testing and working closely with HRIS developers
    • Participate in scheduling of the HRIS release and maintenance calendars.
    • Manage issues and risk tracking and facilitate resolution.
    • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    Education: 

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education background with strong knowledge and experiences with a data-driven business technical environment. PMP Certificate preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience as an HRIS Project Manager.  Thorough understanding of Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation, and Payroll business processes.

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of Project and Portfolio Management processes
    • Visio, Access, Excel, MS Project, other PPM Systems
    • Project and Portfolio Management systems experience
