  • Overview & Responsibilities

    Design, develop, test, and manage proprietary Product and Sales software to facilitate, measure, and improve sales revenue and margin.  Collaborate, obtain input, and feedback from Product Management, Sales Management, end-users, and Technology staff on software enhancements and change management.  Manage the day-to-day activities, processes, priorities, and initiatives of the team.


    Program Development 30%

    • Interpret application development strategy and develop Sales & Product system enhancements to support the sales organization goals. Obtain input from a variety of internal stakeholders in order to understand their issues, concerns, and needs. Discuss and obtain agreement with stakeholders on priorities and enhancement options.
    • Develop business and functional requirements to achieve desired software enhancements. Obtain IT resources as appropriate.

    Operations 40%

    • Develop and manage project plan including timeline, activities, responsible owner, milestones, communications, and change management through the software life cycle. Status management and stakeholders on ongoing progress, identifying issues, and possible risks.
    • Manages a wide range of quality control tests, SIT, UAT, regression, data files, and analysis to ensure software meets or exceeds specified standards. Reviews and provides feedback on test scripts and plan. 
    • Collaborates with Learning & Development on software enhancements, training, and job aids for sales teams.
    • Monitors release success, identifies and prioritizes issues, manages resources to resolve issues.
    • Manage the day-today activities, processes, procedures, and priorities of the team. Responsible for maintaining current processes and procedures focusing on continual improvement and efficiencies
    • Additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

    Administration 10%

    • Coordinate staff work and time-off schedules ensuring appropriate coverage.
    • Identifies and implements innovative solutions for practice or workflow changes to improve department operations or other department-specific measures by leading unit projects and/or other department/system directed activities. Supports change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
    • Gathers data for annual expense and personnel budgets, reviews expense statements and takes necessary actions to control and reduce costs. Ensures adequate supplies are available. Implements department strategies to achieve financial target and staffing needs, developing others to do the same, through optimizing productivity, supply/resource efficiency, minimizing incidental overtime and overtime percentage, and other areas according to department specifications. Identifies capital needs and plans accordingly.

    People Development 20%

    • Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team.  Understand team members career aspirations and provide assignments to develop skills and/or close gaps.  Constructively address issues and provide tangible and appropriate feedback.  Apply a proactive and collaborative management style in order to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover.  Monitor training and licensing requirements ensuring staff is re-trained/licensed prior to expiration.
    • Responsible for screening candidates (internal and external) and hiring or promoting a skilled and effective staff. Establishes pay, recommends pay increases, special pays, and career advancements.
    • Discipline staff as necessary. Writes development plans to close behavior or skill gaps.  Collaborates with Human Resources throughout discipline, development, and termination processes.  Recommends and discusses terminations with Leadership.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    Education & Licenses:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, or related discipline

    Experience & Knowledge:

    • At least three (3) managing business and functional needs with Information Technology and stakeholders
    • At least eight (8) years’ application development experience preferably with proprietary software
    • Demonstrate knowledge of sales life cycle
    • Demonstrate knowledge of software development and release phases
    • At least two (2) year’s supervising staff or managing division wide projects preferred

    Skills & Abilities (not listed within Competencies):

    • Computer literate and proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point
    • Must be able to travel – up to 10% travel in North America required; ability to lift and carry luggage
