  • Overview & Responsibilities

    Enhance sales performance through learning program development and deployment across North America Sales (NAS). Develop a sustainable vision and long-term strategy that support continual revenue growth.  Collaborate with stakeholders obtaining input and feedback for priorities and program design.  Oversee a geographically dispersed team of sales trainers.    

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    Strategy 30%

    • Create a vision to transform sales learning and support revenue growth. Establish and implement Sales Learning & Development long-term strategy to meet future business, sales strategy, products, and regulatory needs.  Collaborates with Market Leadership, Sales, Product Development and Sales Enablement o understand the business, goals, and company strategy as well as sharing of challenges, failures, and successes in order to develop enhanced programs.   
    • Responsible for change management throughout sales, stakeholders, and leaderships ensuring a smooth rollout and acceptance.
    • Develop Sales KPIs within technology to measure performance, drive sales accountability, and support good business decisions.

    Operations 40%

    • Manage stakeholder’s expectations, business needs, and priorities. Confirm program requirements meet stakeholders business needs to transform the sales experience and support revenue growth. Continually collaborate and update stakeholders on initiatives and implementation plans.  Resolve resistance and manage change.
    • Identify resource needs, secure/schedule resources, and resolve roadblocks.
    • Oversee the development, implementation, and deployment of Sales Learning & Development programs. Ensure programs meet the expectations of sales management, product development, sales enablement, and Field Management.

    Administration 10%

    • Identifies and implements innovative solutions for practice or workflow changes to improve department operations or other department-specific measures by leading unit projects and/or other department/system directed activities. Supports change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures
    • Develop annual expense and personnel budgets, reviews expense statements and takes necessary actions to control and reduce costs. Ensures adequate supplies are available. Implements department strategies to achieve financial target and staffing needs, developing others to do the same, through optimizing productivity, supply/resource efficiency, minimizing incidental overtime and overtime percentage, and other areas according to department specifications. Proactively identifies and plans for capital needs.

    People Development 20%

    • Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team.  Understand team members career aspirations and provide assignments and goals that develop skills and/or close gaps.  Constructively address issues and provide tangible and appropriate feedback.  Apply a proactive and collaborative management style in order to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover.  Monitor training and licensing requirements ensuring staff is re-trained/licensed prior to expiration.
    • Responsible for screening candidates (internal and external) and hiring or promoting a skilled and effective staff. Establishes pay, recommends pay increases, special pays, and career advancements.
    • Writes development plans to close behavior or skill gaps. Discipline staff as necessary.  Collaborates with Human Resources throughout discipline, development, and termination processes.  Recommends and discusses terminations with Leadership.

     

    Requirements & Qualifications

    Education & Licenses:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Learning, Human Resources, Communications or related discipline

    Experience & Knowledge:

    • At least twelve (12) years’ adult learning & developing experience designing, implementing, and delivering programs for software, product, sales techniques, and people management skills utilizing live, on-line, virtual, and video media.
    • Experience developing and implementing long-term strategy as well as change management across the organization required
    • At least six (6) years’ deploying and implementing learning & developing organization wide.
    • At least five (5) years’ developing a sales learning content, materials, job aids, etc.
    • Demonstrated ability to management a variety stakeholders across the organization and obtain agreement

     

    Skills & Abilities (not listed within Competencies):

    • Computer literate and proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point
    • Must be able to travel up to 20% of time within North America required, ability to lift and carry luggage
